Hyperconnected Cities Data Navigator
Hyperconnected Cities Data Navigator
ESI ThoughtLab
We had a blast working with ESI Thoughtlab to turn their Hyperconnected Cities data into an interactive online tool for business and municipal leaders to get an in-depth outlook on how 100 cities around the world stack up in these areas:
- Technology and IT Infrastructure
- Mobility and Transportation
- Energy and Water
- Environment and Sustainability
- Public Safety and Health
- Governance and Finance
Map and Rankings
We built an interactive map that displays color-coded dots for each city to provide a quick overview of where the most advanced smart cities are located. Each dot can be hovered over to display the basic data.
Below the map we included a sortable table showing rankings for all 100 cities and how they compare in each category.
City Profiles
Each city has a profile page that shows the full data on that city across all categories (Energy and Water, Mobility and Transportation, etc.).
We build simple animated bar charts to show how much progress the city has made across various initiatives, as well as an overview tab to give a quick snapshot of the city's priorities.
City Comparison Table
We built a comparison table that allows users to select three cities and see their full data side-by-side. It allows city officials to see how they stack up with peer cities or businesses to compare various markets for future investment.
Users can also download a spreadsheet of the data they're comparing for future reference.
"Businesses and residents are embracing technological innovation faster than many cities can react. With digital change happening in hyper-speed, urban leaders need to act now to bridge the technology gap between their cities and stakeholders. Building a Hyperconnected City provides urban and business leaders with the definitive playbook for creating a digitally-enabled and seamlessly interlinked ecosystem.”
